Studies
Curiosity examining a subject or experience. No decision required.
● DecidedRepeating practices that keep the Practice moving — the Weekly Design Review, Capture & Release, and the rhythms around them. The instruments themselves live in the Tools toolbox.
Awareness notices; a capture tool or Inbox records. Captures are welcome, but commitments are chosen. Material may live in LifePalette without owing action, while an intention/action system holds only what the LifeArtist has decided to act on in the foreseeable future.
One current implementation: Apple Notes is the capture archive; Reminders is the intention/action system. A Note can be shared to Reminders when it is time to act. The source item may stay in Notes while the Reminder points back to it.
Between possibility and commitment, an intention may be classified into a LifeDimension, LifeRole, Studio, Project, Study, Task, or Milestone as appropriate.
Revisit Apple Notes / Awareness, rediscover what was captured, then make a navigational decision. This is Capture & Release in practice—not software architecture.
Create a concrete reminder when a capture calls for action.
Move active material into the Studio that can preserve its context.
Save reference material that should be findable again.
Curate an outcome only when it deserves intentional attention.
Retain finished or inactive material away from active work.
Let irrelevant captures and spent sparkly things go.
Squirrels and Sparkly Things may wait in the Squirrel Preserve, return to review, or be released. Capture never creates a commitment.
Awareness · Studios · Library · Gallery · Archive, with Sketchbooks and Studies used when appropriate.
Role, topic, or use can travel across folders. Apple Notes is the first implementation example, not the conceptual model.
Instruments and postures — Lens, Stepping Back, Studies, Sketchbooks, the Creative Compass — live in the Tools toolbox.

● DecidedDesigned visual tools for exploration — never questionnaires.
◐ RefiningNavigation: looking back to decide what continues, changes or is released.
● DecidedCapture first, decide later. Nothing captured is a commitment.
● DecidedChange distance. Return with fresher eyes. Look from another angle.
● DecidedA Saturday review of Awareness that redirects, curates, archives, or releases captures.
